There was news that the release could be postponed because Anushka is currently very busy acting in Erandam Ulagam. The crew of Alex Pandian have denied this news. One of the members of the crew said, "Anushka had given 60 days call sheet for Alex Pandian. Major portions pertaining to her have been completed.Only the climax sequences and a song sequence are remaining to be shot. Anushka h as mentioned that she will allocate her dates to complete these portions once she returns from Georgia where she is shooting for Erandam Ulagam. Since Santhanam accompanies Karthi throughout this film, portions pertaining to them are being shot now. The shooting of Alex Pandian is not delayed because of Anushka."
