Camera Man RNK Prasad Passed away

 
 

Rattehalli Nagendra Rao Krishna Prasad – RNK Prasad died on Wednesday in Appolo Hospital in Chennai dies after heart attack. He leaves behind wife Usha Prasad, daughter Rathnamala and son Rajiv Prasad.

With the departure of RNK Prasad the Kannada film industry and South Indian cinema industry in general lost a high profile cameraman. The book written by RNK Prasad is a subject for study in Universities on cinematography. RNK Prasad starting as cameraman later directed Kannada films, acted in Tamil television serials and built up vast admirers.

Winner of Lifetime Achievement award RNK Prasad, second son of R Nagendra Rao made a beginning from 'Premada Puthri' as cameraman. His works in Bellimoda, Mareyadha Haadu, Naguva Hoovu were fantastic in the past.

The cremation of RNK Prasad is taking place today at Chennai and his son Rajiv Prasad director of Kannada film 'Gautham' is conducting the final rites.

In last year May RNK Prasad was felicitated by state award winner KM Vishnuvardhana with other colleagues like GS Bhasker, BS Basavaraj and other colleagues taking part in it. He unveiled the portrait of founder of Karnataka Cinematographers Association DV Rajaram and recalled his long association with ancient cameras. RNK Prasad remembered how the camera was very essential and how he worked without looking at the fame and money.
