Ambuli Movie Online – Preview

Sci-fi and Tamil might not appear in the same line but recent developments have brought the genre into Tamil cinema. The latest to join the bandwagon is Ambuli, touted to the Tamil's first direct 3-D film (My dear Kuttichathan was a Malayalam dubbing movie), made in the stereoscopic format to enhancing the illusion of depth in images while presenting it onscreen.

Ambuli is directed by Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan, who were behind the 2010 paranormal thriller Orr Eravuu which was quite well received by fans. Although the name might be deceptive, Ambuli is not a children's movie and is a mystery thriller. It's based on folklore and superstition and focuses on a village that follows certain rituals. The directors have also termed the movie a 'moon light mystery.'

Disclosing in an interview that there are no villains in the movie, the directors also mentioned that the plot revolves around four youngsters who go in search of a story, the problems they face and how they overcome them. The lead roles are played by R Ajai, P S Srijith, Sanam and Jothisha Ammu. A significant character is played by Gokulnath whose earlier credit include Maanada Mayilada, the television dance reality show. Strangely, as soon as the movie's production was over in July 2011, one of its lead characters Ajai committed suicide.

Produced by KTVR Loganaathan for KTVR Creative Reels, the movie also has Parthiban playing a cameo role as Sengodan. Other known faces who are cast in the movie include Uma Riaz Khan, Thambi Ramaiah and Jagan. The movie's soundtrack was composed by K. Venkat Prabu Shankar, C. S. Sam, Sathish and Mervin Solomon.
