HTC Velocity review

HTC Velocity 4G is first 4G-LTE smartphone I have come across. The phone offers a high-speed data transfer than my iPhone 4S and surfing is fun and overall the speeds were intimidatingly quick. The operating system on the HTC Velocity 4G is Android 2.3.7. However, at end of this month an Android 4.0 update is scheduled which would be a welcome relief for the owner who complain bitterly about why the phone did not use ice cream sandwich. The 1.5GHz dual core processor is about average for many dual-core phones and while testing it I obtained a Quadrant score average of around 2300 which is average score compared to other phones with dual core that I have handled before. Sense UI is what I've come to expect from HTC phones. When talking to the owner, I compared it to other available handsets in terms of power and physical design and this phone rates as extremely competent.

While using the Speed Test app from the Android Marketplace, the owner told me that she sees around 30,000Kbps even with a single bar of 4G.When she takes photo with it, uploading speed is always lower and averages speed of 16,000Kbps. At the moment, the HTC Velocity speed seem to be almost out of this world and many can only assume its fiction. The phone is powered by 1.5 GHz dual core processor with a 1GB of RAM. For data, the 16GB internal memory is in charge and microSD memory card slot is available for expansion according to the owner. The built-in 8-megapixel camera on the back makes for both photo and video recording at an easy and wonderful experience.

The Velocity 4G also has a front camera and photos taken by the phone owner impressed me with their natural colors while the videos there are no tightening which are seen in different light conditions in other phones, the image. HTC 4G Velocity tone is moderate and weak and only the superbly built high quality earphones can boost the music experience. I listened to Guns and Roses hit track paradise city and was impressed because the voice quality is good although the speakers are somehow quiet in free mode. While most recent smartphones are already offering a less satisfying battery life, the battery of the HTC Velocity 4G has a capacity of 1600 mAh. According to HTC manual that I read, it delivers maximum talk time from 5 to just fewer than 7.5 hours and a standby time of up to 293 hours. That proved correct my long held fears that 4G connectivity would prove to be overly power draining to many smartphones. The owner told me that using it on WiFi hotspot was a real battery killer.
