Bhakthi Prasthanam featuring Kunchako Boban

 

Bombay, March 12 was Babu Janardhanan's debut as a film director, who is a well reputed script writter in Mollywood. His first directorial venture may not be a super hit, but the writer turned director is all set to get rolling with his second direction attempt titled Bhakthi Prasthanam.

The film is about the demi-gods of the state of Kerala and will portray the life of one of them. The Kunchako Boban will play the lead role of this yet to be titled movie. Afsal Yusaf will be teaming up with Babu for the second time for Bhakthi Prasthanam.

Who is Suriya’s heroine in Hari film?

 

It's become a fashion in Tamil to throw in names like Katrina, Deepika, Sonam or Kareena when a big film is announced.

The media goes overboard and churns out speculative news that these A-listers from Bollywood are going to be the heroine to our larger-than-life heroes in mass action films.

Recently Soundarya Rajinikanth said that Katrina may sign Kochadiyaan opposite Rajinikanth. Earlier Deepika was supposed to be superstar's heroine in Rana, which never took off.

Now the latest news doing the rounds is that Sonam has been signed to be Suriya's heroine in Hari directed film. There are also reports that it's not Sonam but the hot 'n' happening Anushka who has bagged the role as Hari wants to repeat the Singam magic.

Remember that Sonam was in the news lately for supposedly being signed up for Mani Ratnam's Pookadai but later it was confirmed that Samantha is the heroine.

Prithviraj new movie ‘Hero’

 

Historians of Mollywood can find only one tale about a filmy fight master ever made into a Malayalam movie-And it was Megastar Mammootty who donned that character 'Phantom Pailee' for the Biju Varkey movie 'Phantom'. Now after a few decades from the movie, young Superstar Prithviraj is donning the role of a fight master in films, for his new movie 'Hero' directed by Deepan. Prithvi will appear as Tarsan Antony in the movie which will have plenty of body show and fights.

After the big hit 'Puthiya Mukham', Deepan is trying to repeat another hit by bringing in plenty of big names for this project including Sreekanth and Thalaivasal Vijay from Tamil and Bala, Anoop Menon, Anil Murali, Indrans and Malavika in the important roles. Telugu star Yamee Gowtham is the heroine of the movie which is continuing with its shoot at Kochi and Aluva.

Fahad in the right track

 

After a forgettable debut a decade ago in his father's movie 'Kaiyetthum Doorathu', young star Fahad Fazil is finally in the right track. He is undoubtedly leading a range of new generation film makers with innovative concepts and ideas, becoming their favourite lead actor. This was more than evident in 'Chappa Kurisu' and 'Cocktail', which told some very different tales, though inspired from foreign movies. Suddenly emerging as the busiest young actor in the circle, Fahad's immediate release will be the movie with Sreenivasan in 'Padmashree Bharath Dr. Saroj Kumar' in which he will appear in the role of a movie director. He has also been the leading star in Shalini Usha Nair's offbeat movie 'Akam' a take on Malayatoor's 'Yakshy'.

Fahad's big project in the pipeline includes 'Diamond Necklace' directed by Lal Jose and '22 Female Kottayam' the latest by Aashiq Abu. Both the movies will get completed in the first quartet of the year, after which Fahad will join his first comedy movie 'Thamarasseri to Thailand'.

Rajni as king in Kochadaiyaan

 

Recently we have reported that Bollywood's leading lady Katrina Kaif will be paired opposite the Superstar in this first animated film Kochadaiyaan, to be directed by daughter Soundarya. Now the latest buzz is that the actor will play the role of a king who is also an ardent devotee of lord Shiva. There are also reports that Superstar will sport long hairs for this film.The first look of the film is likely to be unveiled towards the end of this month. Music maestro A.R.Rahman has been roped in to compose music for this project.

Linguswamy is one of the very few directors in Tamil cinema who has understood the pulse of the Tamil audience. That's the reason he could deliver these successful wholesome entertainers. And, 'Vettai' is no exception in his line-up of successful movies!

The director has done it yet again with a superb commercial cocktail called 'Vettai' with all the right ingredients of an enjoyable entertainer!

'Vettai' has a very intense story of two brothers, Thirumurthy and Gurumurthy, who live for each other in the town of Thoothukudi. The elder brother, who is very soft and calm in nature, becomes honest police officer (a tradition in their family) and the younger is a carefree one who is forced to take a different route in his life. The brothers fall in love with two sisters, Vasanthi (Sameera Reddy) and Jayanthi (Amala Paul) of the same village. The happy story takes a twist when the villain (Ashutosh Rana), who always troubles the common people, comes in the story. The police officer Thiru takes on the villain and the 'Vettai' starts. Here, the younger brother 'shifts' loyalty to the other camp. And, how the happy lives of these main four characters is changed in the second half is told with high-octane action sequences.

Madhavan as an elder brother and an honest police officer has done a tremendous job and Arya's has again wonderfully portrayed that happy-go-lucky guy and an action hulk! Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul have also given one of their best performances.

Ashutosh Rana, Nasser and Thambi Ramaiah has also come out with a neat performance.

Credit goes to the director who has etched the characters and cast the right stars.

'Vettai' is just a simple one line but the director has made it as a wonderful action based commercial script with romance, comedy and colourful songs to make it a super entertainer.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music and the songs are one of the pluses of the film. The song 'Pappapaa…' had been a rage even before the official music album of the film.

Nirav Shah's camera work has supported Linguswamy to tell the story what he wanted; especially the action sequences and the colourful songs!

Anthony's editing is another big work in the film.

Thirupathi Brothers has produced the movie and UTV Motion Pictures has distributed the film.

'Vettai' is the right film who wants to enjoy an action-packed entertaining movie. The film offers something more what you expect. Thanks to the director, Linguswamy and the cast and the crew!

This 'Vettai' will definitely entertain you, in Linguswamy style!

Gabbar Singh: Ileana declines Munni number

 

The grapevine is rife with rumours of the slim beauty Ileana, having turned down an offer to shake legs with Power Star Pawan Kalyan in the famous 'Munni' number in Gabbar Singh, Telugu remake of Dabbang. Reportedly, the actress gave the thumbs down to the offer even though producer Ganesh offered a whopping Rs. 80 lakh to 1 crore for 3-days work!

"Yes, she was approached to play the role but she turned it down. She is a top league actress in T-town and doesn't need to do an item number to gain mileage and publicity, a friend close to the actress said.

Meanwhile, the director has also approached Bipasha Basu and Trisha, but nothing is fixed.We are exploring various options but it's too early to talk about it since we'll shoot the number only in April. But it will definitely be a big name,� director Harris Shankar said.
